TEXANS FIRST
If you choose to hire me to be your next governor then it will be my priority to put all Texans First. Before I sign any pieces of legislation there will be a litmus test to see how Texans will be helped or harmed. A determination will be made if this new law is really necessary plus what is the cost. Every year the legislators pass new laws many of which reduces your freedoms and liberties.
Sometimes we have to say “enough is enough”. We ought to begin using common sense. I would like to be measured not by how many pieces of legislation was passed but how many harmful laws I was able to block and how many bad laws I was able to repeal. That would be a true measure of my effectiveness.
It is important to me that the well-being and safety of all Texans are ensured. There are several steps that can be undertaken.
We need to have a secure border to stop the troublemakers from entering. Jails and prisons were emptied out so these groups of dangerous criminals could come here.
Now I am not against immigration. But against the illegal flow of migrants. Now we hear the number of illegals are approximately 11 million. That’s what we are being force-feed. The real numbers are close to 75 million to 100 million. During the Reagan Administration the number of illegals in the United States was approximately 11 million. The powers to be like to use that number today even though it’s not reality.
As your future governor I vow to secure the border with common sense tactics. I’m not talking about just “controlling” the influx of migrants but put an end to illegal crossings.
It’s amazing the Democrats and many Republicans complained about spending the money for the building a wall citing lack of money where today we are spending massive amount of money defending other nations borders, and very little to ensure the safety and well-being of Texans and Americans. This craziness and foolishness needs to end.
Another step we can undertake for the safety and welfare for all Texans can be by opening up statewide Community Support Centers. It’s time we take care of Texans instead of providing welfare to the rest of the world. I also mean corporate welfare. The rich continue to get richer via your tax dollars. The United States has the one of the highest prison population in the world. I believe the focus should be on how we can save people before they embark on a path of crime. To do so we ought to focus on educating our young people on self-responsibility, self-esteem, self-confidence and ethics. We need Community Support Centers that people can go to for assistance when their life turns into shambles. We need to offer help for the hopeless. No one should go to bed hungry or homeless. This is not socialism but taking care of our own with showing love and compassion.
We need to give people hope. Sure, many times a person’s lot in life was caused by their own bad decisions. But sometimes events happen in one’s life that can easily spin out of control and cause despair and hopelessness. I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with many homeless people.
Some of those folks fall into the chronic homelessness whereas others were hard working Texans who fell upon hard times from either a job loss or a disability. There are those who lost control over their lives from alcoholism and drug addiction. These people need help. Those who are homeless cannot easily apply for food stamps. Some can work at low paying day labor jobs while others must beg for money to survive. Then there are also those scammers who are not homeless and collecting food assistance, who try to scam people for money. There are many cities who have made it a crime to give money to the homeless and downtrodden.
People need hope in their lives. With these Community Support Centers, we can provide public work projects for people to work and earn a living to support themselves and their families. A man working is not out on the streets committing crimes.
In addition these centers will offer Life Coaching, Mental Health Counseling, and Anger Management training.
In the coming months I’ll be outlining my additional future plans in Texans First such as Election Integrity, Save Our Lakes from the Water Poachers, Water Desalination Plants, Economic Development Opportunities for Small Business, and so much more.
This is Texas. I believe we can do better with Texans Helping Texans!!
